Blue Moon

I do not own any rights to this drawing.

Sitting there across from you, the table for two.
A moment that hasn’t happened before,
As I reiterate how my heart burst,
eyes filled and flooded with waves of tears.
Your composure remained immovable, like a rock I could lean on,
your silence–a comfort my heart needs.
Through the darkness spilling from my troubled soul,
your eyes remain dead fixed on my face, intently listening
never uttering a word.
Understanding more than what I actually say, it’s a wonder how
you are able to see the pieces I fail to show.
Your gaze locked, shedding a faint light to ease the gloom–
the way you listen when I speak–
You’re a rare find, certainly in this lifetime I know.
